President and CEO Dr. Michael Cropp is vowing to keep members in the loop as health care faces significant reforms under the affordable care act.
"We're making major investments in our information systems and the technology to be able to gather all the information we have about our members and their needs," said Dr. Cropp. "So that our associations, when they are interacting with our members, can have all the information they need about them"
Dr. Cropp said they work to engage members to improve their own health.
"It has a very positive impact, and so the contrast to some other national plans that might not make the same investments that we do," said Dr. Cropp.
Independent Health scored highest in five of seven categories. The categories used in the rankings include customer service, claims and approval processing.
“This prestigious award reinforces what we strive to do each day – to engage our members to improve their health while we provide quality coverage and service to our members," said Cropp.
