Snowy owl

This has to be one of the most Zen-like videos of the year: a snowy owl riding the icy waves of Lake Ontario. Now, it's a hit on social media.

Gary Cranfield, who lives in New York near the eastern end of the lake, took the video last weekend with his girlfriend's Canon PowerShot Sx50.

"There are usually sightings this time of year and historically there have been snowy owls in this place for years and we decided to check it out ... " Cranfield, 69, told syracuse.com. "When we got home, we got on the computer and [looked at the video]. We thought, ‘Wow, this really came out good” and decided to share it.”
