A recently filed lawsuit connected to Love Canal has been moved from county court to US District Court.
The suit, filed by current and past residents living near the toxic chemical site, seeks damages stemming from a leak that is claimed to have occurred during a sewer line repair along Colvin Boulevard. The State Department of Environmental Conservation disputes the reports of any leaks.
Lawyers for one defendant in the case requested the move as any violation would fall under federal law.
