LeRoy residents to hear results from chemical testing

The LeRoy School District is expected to release a public assessment today on tests that have been performed at the LeRoy High School. The testing was conducted after eighteen students all suffered ticks and Tourette's-like symptoms. The District hired Leader Professional Services. The company will examine the testing and issue recommendations.

The review will be presented to parents from 9 to 10:00 this morning at the high school auditorium.

The EPA will remove barrels from the federal Superfund site in LeRoy by the end of February. Congresswoman Kathy Hochul spoke with Environmental Protection Agency Regional Administrator Judtih Enck on Friday. The removed drums will be tested to ensure they are sent to the proper disposal location.

Quarterly testing is undertaken at the Superfund site and is next scheduled to take place this month, however, Congresswoman Hochul, Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand have sent a letter to the EPA calling on them to release December's report to the public to ensure the contamination has not spread.

Saturday & Sunday 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.
