Buffalo Board of Education President Louis Petrucci said a special board meeting will be held Wednesday at 5 p.m. to discuss the stabbing and shooting at McKinley High School Feb. 9.
Petrucci said board members will also discuss and consider a resolution in response to that incident.
The Buffalo Teachers Federation raised security questions, saying violence has been on the rise across the district, while Superintendent Kriner Cash has talked about the additional guards and school resource officers put in place at city schools.
The meeting will be held in the auditorium of the Waterfront Elementary School #95, at 95 Fourth St. in Buffalo. Attendees must wear masks, and temperature checks will be taken.
This special meeting will be in lieu of the board's regularly scheduled Executive Affairs work session. The regularly scheduled Finance and Operations Work Session will be held immediately after the conclusion of the special meeting.
