Alumni foundation provides Hamburg Schools new state-of-the-art scoreboard

The current scoreboard at Howe Field
Hamburg Alumni Foundation
The current scoreboard is expected to be replaced this summer.

Hamburg Central Schools has a new state-of-the-art scoreboard coming to Howe Field, thanks to their alumni.

The Hamburg Alumni Foundation has donated $285,000 for the scoreboard, its largest single donation yet. It's a capital improvement that wasn't included in the district's $68.5 million budget that was recently approved.

The scoreboard will be compatible with football, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey and track and field; have video streaming and replay capabilities; and can also be used to enhance graduation and other events on the field. There's also a learning component, as the programming will be incorporated into the district's Technology coursework.

It's expected the scoreboard will be installed when the Howe Field turf is replaced this summer. To date, the foundation has donated over $800,000 to the district in grants, scholarships and awards.
