Many school districts are closed Thursday in anticipation of the snow to come during the day.
There is a Lake Effect Snow Warning in effect until 7 a.m. Friday for Northern Erie and Genesee counties, as 6-12 inches of snow and winds up to 40 mph are expected. There is also a Winter Weather Advisory in effect for Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties, where 4-8 inches of snow and 40 mph winds are expected.
