The Charter School of Inquiry's Board of Trustees has appointed John Sheffield its new Head of School.
The appointment at the Edison Street elementary charter in Buffalo takes effect July 1 and fills the position left by the resignation of Robert Fetter to pursue other opportunities.
“John Sheffield is uniquely qualified to achieve the founders’ vision of creating CSI as a model of urban educational excellence," said Helene Kramer, a founder of CSI and its Board Chair. "He knows how to develop a vibrant, collaborative teaching and learning environment. Mr. Sheffield is a passionate educator with high expectations for children and it shows in the results he gets. We feel very fortunate that he will be joining us as Head of School.”
Sheffield has more than 18 years of experience as a Principal, most of those at the elementary school level, including at Elmwood Village Charter School, where he served for more than 10 years. Sheffield was also Principal at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, South Buffalo Charter School, and most recently at Pine Valley Central School District.
