The Erie County Sheriff's Office reports its Bomb Squad Unit and detectives have cleared a threat at Alden High School and the student involved. Earlier Thursday morning, authorities investigated allegations that a student was talking about making bombs to other students.
Alden High School administrators checked the student’s locker and discovered a device with a battery and wires, which sent the school into lockdown and multiple Sheriff units were dispatched to the scene.
Bomb technicians determined the device was benign and bomb-sniffing K9s cleared the school. The Sheriff's Office said no criminal charges will be filed.
