This fall marks the start of an historic school year for the University at Buffalo Law School as the school makes public its largest ever fundraising campaign has been surpassed. Announced Monday in a UB press release, the fundraising campaign that began seven years ago has made its mark at the $30 million goal.

The funding received as part of the Campaign for UB School of Law supports academic efforts, triples available scholarship funding, provides for technological advances, and overall develops the program more fully for future students and faculty alike.

UB faculty and staff are proud of meeting the $30 million goal, and recognize the strength of alumni and community support as major factors in helping the school meet its goal.

“The success of this campaign demonstrates the strong support for both the School of Law, and UB more broadly, by our many alumni and university friends who are vitally important as we build even further upon our vision of excellence and deepen our impact as a world-class public research university," said Satish K. Tripathi, President.

UB vice president for philanthropy and alumni engagement Nancy Wells added that the alumni “have enthusiastically contributed to UB’s School of Law campaign, and they remain dedicated to the school’s continuing success."

Faculty and staff note that it is this kind of continued support that sustains the work of the UB Law School, the only one of its kind currently in the SUNY system.

“This is a significant accomplishment not just for law but for the entire university and its philanthropy program,” said Interim Dean James A. Gardner.
