It appears a search for a new superintendent of Erie 1 BOCES has been completed. WBFO's Focus on Education reporter Eileen Buckley has learned the BOCES Board of Education has selected a new leader.
Erie 1 BOCES board of education President John Sherman issued a staff memo indicating the board has agreed to offer the position to Dr. Lynn Fusco. The board made the decision on January 22.
Fusco currently serves at schools superintendent in the Niagara Wheatfield School District.
The memo stated "pending the successful negotiation of a contract, the Board anticipates making a formal appointment at its meeting on March 11, 2015. It is anticipated that Dr. Fusco will begin as our new District Superintendent on July 1, 2015."
Fusco began her post in the Niagara Wheatfield District in August of 2013.
Former BOCES superintendent Don Ogilvie retired last July. Ogilive now serves as interim Buffalo Schools superintendent.
A request to speak to the BOCES Board leader about the search was declined until next the March meeting finalizes the new leader.
