Two major developments occurring at Canisius High School in Buffalo.  WBFO's Focus on Education reporter Eileen Buckley says one involves a top administrator -- the other a nationally ranked football player.

The Dean of Students is out.  The high school confirmed Beck O'Connor is no longer working at the high school as of Monday.  A reason has not been given.  But at the same time, Canisius also revealed one of its football players is out for a violation of school rules.

Senior Brad Zaffram will not appear in this week's game at Ralph Wilson  Stadium.  WBFO New spoke with Tom Lucia, the school's public relations and social media director.

"Unfortunately unable to compete in the remainder of the post- season contest due to a violation of school policy.  Due to the student information regulations that's about all the information I can give you at  this time," stated Lucia.

There is no word if the departure of O'Connor is related.

The Canisius Crusaders play in the Monsignor Martin Association semifinals Thursday night at the Ralph.  If they win, Zaffram would still not be allowed to play in a game next week.

A check of Zaffram's Twitter page shows various Tweets relating to his high school. One, as recently as November 3rd, stated ridiculous 'amount of homework to do tonight'.  Another Tweet from October 29th stated Canisius was the 'best thing that ever happen' to him.
