Jetter pleads not guilty to filing false police report

Hamburg Schools Superintendent Richard Jetter entered a not guilty plea at his arraignment in Hamburg Village Court Wednesday evening on a charge that he filed a false police report.

Jetter is accused of telling Hamburg authorities that his car was damaged by vandals during a school board meeting when, in fact, he had hit a utility pole in South Buffalo the night before.

He has until September 8th to accept a plea deal or the case will go to a grand jury.

Jetter's attorney Terry Connors said his client is focused on his health and well being and has not made a decision about resigning as superintendent.

Just this week, Vincent Coppola began work as acting superintendent following his appointment by the Hamburg School Board.
