The Erie County District Attorney's Office announced Monday that the President and CEO of New Era Cap has been arraigned in Buffalo City Court for attempting to hit another person with his vehicle.
DA John Flynn said Christopher Koch, 61, of Buffalo was arraigned Monday morning before Judge Andrew LoTempio on one count of reckless endangerment in the first degree, a class “D” felony.
The charge comes an apparent argument Saturday in the parking lot outside a restaurant on Delaware Avenue near Delham Avenue. The victim allegedly jumped out of the way to avoid being hit, but suffered an injury to his hand. Koch also is alleged to have damaged the passenger side of the victim's vehicle.
Koch is scheduled back in court May 25 for a felony hearing and has been released on his own recognizance. A temporary no-contact order of protection was also issued on behalf of the victim.
If convicted, Koch faces a maximum sentence of seven years in prison.
