Officials announced the charges in April 2019.

A former substitute teacher and coach at John F. Kennedy Middle and High Schools in the Cheektowaga-Sloan district has pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor.

Steven Gasiorek, 36, of Cheektowaga was accused of posing on Instagram as a high school girl living in California and receiving child porn images from numerous minor males. They included some of the students he was teaching and coaching at JFK between March 2014 and April 2019.

Authorities said a search warrant at his residence turned up over 600 images and videos, 29 of which have been positively identified.

Gasiorek faces a mandatory minimum federal prison term of five years, a maximum of 40 years, and a $250,000 fine at his sentencing July 27.
