Human remains were found off Woleben Road in the Town of Portland.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office has announced a second set of human remains has been found near the Rails to Trails path off Woleben Road in the Town of Portland.

This new development comes on the heels of this weekend's discovery of other human remains near the same spot. Both sets of remains have been transported to the Mercyhurst Anthropology Lab in Erie, PA for analysis.

The first discovery is believed to have been a female, but no age or gender has been determined for the second body. Officials also said the first set of remains has been at the site for much longer than the second set.

An investigation is continuing on scene.
