Father charged with murder in 2019 infant death

Erie County District Attorney's Office

The Erie County District Attorney's Office announced Wednesday that a Buffalo man has been charged in the 2019 death of his infant son.

Reginald J. Jordan, 37, is charged with one count of Second Degree Murder and one count of First Degree Manslaughter. If convicted, Jordan faces 25 years in prison.

The case dates back to September 20, 2019. Police say they answered a call of a child not breathing at a home on Grote Street. It was there they found six-month-old King Jordan. The child was taken to Oishei Children's Hospital, where he died two days later.

Investigators say the baby suffered blunt force injuries to his head and neck which resulted in his death. They accuse Reginald Jodan of shaking the victim, causing those injuries.

The defendant is held without bail and is next scheduled to appear before a judge May 27.
