Pendleton Town Highway Superintendent Jeffrey Stowell entered a guilty plea in Niagara County Court Thursday to a misdemeanor count of official misconduct.
An investigation by the Pendleton town supervisor and Niagara County Sheriff's Department found that Stowell directed town employees to perform work on his personal property and used town equipment to deliver stone and other materials to his private residence.
Part of the guilty plea includes the end of Stowell's employment with the Town of Pendleton and the denial of future employment or elective office in the town. He will be sentenced May 4.
