Jason Lanning, 46, of Depew was virtually sentenced Thursday morning in State Supreme Court to one year in jail, followed by 10 years of sex offender probation, and he must register as a sex offender after release.
On Dec. 9, Lanning pleaded guilty to a felony third degree rape charge and two misdemeanor counts of criminal impersonation. He admitted to engaging in sexual relations with a female victim without her consent in the summer of 2016 in Depew, and to falsely representing himself as a state trooper to gain trust and personal information from two other female victims in September 2019.
Lannen is a former New York State trooper who was terminated in 2010. The judge also issued orders of protection on behalf of the victims.
