A Buffalo teen was virtually arraigned Tuesday in Buffalo City Court on a felony charge of third degree insurance fraud, plus misdemeanor counts of offering a false instrument for filing, falsifying business records and falsely reporting an incident.
Clifton Eutsey, 18, is accused of intentionally spray painting his own SUV with racist, homophobic and anti-Semitic graffiti along Saranac Avenue in North Buffalo Oct. 15. He is also accused of pouring a substance, possibly sugar, into the vehicle's gas tank to intentionally cause damage.
Authorities said Eutsey then filed a false claim with his car insurance provider.
Eutsey is due back in court for a felony hearing on Jan. 11 and has been released on his own recognizance. If convicted of all those charges, he faces up to seven years in prison.
Eutsey also has two pending felony counts in a separate case, in which authorities said he was found driving without a license and with two loaded illegal firearms during a traffic stop Oct. 24. In that case, he has a Jan. 4 felony hearing scheduled.
He had posted bail and was released after his Oct. 25 arraignment.
