A free ride turns ends in prison for Buffalo ATV driver

The ATV ridden by Cornelius Caddale was impounded by police after the Juneteenth incident.

A Buffalo man has been sentenced to  1 1/2-3 years in prison, after running over and dragging a Buffalo Police officer who was trying to ticket him.

Cornelius Caddale, 41, was illegally driving an all-terrain vehicle on city streets during Buffalo's Juneteenth Festival, near Fillmore Avenue and Best Street, last year. A bicycle patrol officer attempted to stop the ATV, but was struck, then dragged about 15'.

The officer suffered road rash and a back injury, but subsequently returned to work. Caddale as stopped by police several blocks away.
