A North Tonawanda man who admitted to sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl has been sentenced to 15 years in state prison, followed by 15 years of post-release supervision.
Angemar Garcia, 31, learned his fate in State Supreme Court in Lockport Thursday. He pleaded guilty in February to a first degree criminal sexual act, from an incident that occurred on June 15, 2019.
Garcia was originally indicted on five counts of predatory sexual assault against a child and could have received five life sentences if convicted. He was arrested in August of last year and underwent a psychiatric examination that determined he was competent to stand trial before the indictment was handed down in December.
