5 teens charged with area robberies

The Erie County District Attorney's Office has announced the indictment of several teens for their roles in robberies in Buffalo, Amherst and the Town of Tonawanda.

In the first case, Jaylan Holliday, 18, of Buffalo and a 17-year-old juvenile were arraigned virtually in Erie County Court on Oct. 1 on felony counts of first and second degree robbery.

They are accused of robbing a woman in her vehicle at a convenience store on Niagara Street in Buffalo July 30. Holliday is suspected of trying to hold up a gas station on Bailey Avenue, showing a gun, but fled after the attendant displayed a knife.

The two teens are being held without bail and are due back in court Nov. 19.

Meanwhile, Martez Smalls, 18, of Buffalo and a 15-year-old male were arraigned Tuesday on five felony counts of first degree robbery for incidents July 27 on Highland Avenue in Tonawanda and Capen Boulevard in Amherst.

A stolen vehicle was involved and the two are due back in court Dec. 3.

Another 16-year-old male has been charged as a co-defendant in the case, but did not appear in court Tuesday. An indictment warrant has been issued for his arrest.
