2 Lockport teens arrested for fatal Halloween party shooting

Lockport Police have announced the arrest of two teenage males in connection with the early Saturday morning shooting at a Halloween party that left one person dead and five others wounded.

Lockport Police Chief Steven Abbott said the two teens, both from Lockport, were arraigned in Youth Court in Niagara Falls Wednesday after being arrested around 11:30 p.m Tuesday. Due to their ages, 17 and 16, their identities are not being released.

They have been charged with second degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Niagara County District Attorney Caroline Wojtaszek said they may also be charged with murder with depraved indifference to human life and other counts.

Police said eight shots were fired through a metal door at the scene just after midnight on Saturday. Cheyenne Farewell, 21, of Medina was attending the Halloween party where the shooting took place and died en route to Eastern Niagara Hospital.

Two Lockport teenagers were arrested at around 11:30 last (Tuesday) night, and charged with the shooting early Saturday morning that killed one person and wounded five others. Lockport Police Chief Steven Abbott said the two males will not be publicly identified because they are juveniles, and that they have been charged with second degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Arraignment took place in Youth Court in Niagara Falls. Eight shots were fired into a metal door during a Halloween party at a Lockport address shortly after midnight early Saturday, and one of the victims, 21 year old Cheyenne Farewell of Medina, died while being transported to Eastern Niagara Hospital. Niagara County District Attorney Caroline Wojtaszek says more charges are pending, including the possibility of murder with depraved indifference to human life.
