A Lockport man has been sentenced to two years of probation for brandishing a gun during a car crash.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office said Jeffrey Calhoun, 63, was driving along Colvin Avenue near Sanders Road in Buffalo the morning of July 16, when his pickup truck was rear-ended by another vehicle.

When the female driver of the other vehicle started walking away from the scene, Calhoun followed her and attemped to keep her there by holding onto her purse. He also pulled out a licensed pistol in front of the victim and witnesses. One witness captured the incident on cell phone video.

A jury found Calhoun guilty of one count of menacing in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor. He was acquitted of all other charges, including two hate crimes and attempted robbery.

His pistol permit has been suspended and an order of protection for the female driver will be in effect for three years.
