Buffalo man indicted in stabbing death of Tonawanda woman

A Buffalo man has been indicted in the stabbing death of a woman in the Town of Tonawanda in March.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office said Clarence Simmons, 32, was arraigned virtually in State Supreme Court Wednesday on one charge of second degree murder.

The charges stem from the death of Arielle Johnson, 22, inside a Parkedge Avenue apartment in the Town of Tonawanda March 19.

Simmons is scheduled to return to court on Oct. 21 for a pre-trial conference. Currently being held without bail, he faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison if convicted.
