Buffalo Police investigating two dead bodies, another man wounded

Buffalo Police are investigating two shootings that happened about 10 p.m. Wednesday night and a dead body that was found in the Niagara River.

Police say a man arrived at Buffalo General Medical Center in a civilian vehicle after suffering a gunshot wound in the leg area. The victim told police he believes the shooting incident happened near Main Street and Glenwood Avenue, not far from the Utica Street Metro Rail station.

At about the same time, police say they discovered a deceased man inside of a vehicle in the 1200 block of Delaware Avenue, not far from Canisius High School. He also had been struck by gunfire.

The two locations are about a five-minute drive from each other.

Authorities said Wednesday morning, a passerby also noticed a body in the Niagara River near the 2100 block of Niagara Street. Divers from the Erie County Sheriff's Office Marine Unit recovered the body from the water.

Detectives are investigating each incident. Anyone with information is asked to call or text the police Confidential TIPCALL Line at 847-2255.
