Man charged with killing woman at Cheektowaga 7-Eleven

A Cheektowaga man has been arraigned on one count of second-degree murder in the Sunday shooting death of a woman who worked at a 7-Eleven store on French Road. Travis Zukic, 27, is accused of fatally shooting Hannah Morse, 23, around 11 a.m. Sunday. She was taken to ECMC, where she died.

The shooting happened as dispatchers were speaking with a caller in the store reporting a man with a weapon. When officers arrived, they confronted the shooter and fired at him. He was then arrested, uninjured.

Assistant police chief Brian Gould says at this point, it does not appear that this incident was a robbery attempt and there does not appear to be any relation between the victim and the offender.

Zukic is being held without bail. If convicted, he could face a sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
