Former bank teller pleads guilty to stealing from customers

A Forestville woman has pleaded guilty to stealing from the accounts of her elderly customers while working as a local bank teller.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office said Breanna Rohauer, 35, pleaded guilty to six counts of third degree grand larceny and one count of fourth degree grand larceny, all felonies, in connection with fraudulent withdrawals from bank accounts of several elderly customers.

Rohauer admitted in State Supreme Court that she made the unauthorized transactions between Nov. 17, 2017 and Feb. 4, 2019 while working at a bank in Hamburg.

The illegal withdrawals totalled $124,736. The affected customers were reimbursed by the bank.

Rohauer faces up to 46 years in prison when she is sentenced on May 13.
