A Hamburg native has been appointed commander of the State Police Troop A operations for the eight counties of Western New York and more than 400 sworn and civilian personnel.
Maj. James Hall has been a trooper for over 25 years. He succeeds Edward Kennedy as Troop A commander, to oversee State Police patrol and investigative units here. Kennedy has been promoted to state police inspector.
Hall was captain of Troop A's Bureau of Criminal Investigation and also worked for the state troopers Professional Standards Bureau and in its Gaming Detail. He has a bachelor's degree in organizational management from Houghton College, a master's degree in public administration from Marist College and is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
