Police urge caution after string of home invasions in Black Rock

Buffalo Police

Buffalo Police are investigating a series of home invasions and burglaries in the city's Black Rock area.

Police say white males, likely in their 30s, are canvassing the Military Road-Austin Street area of the neighborhood, asking homeowners if they can do work around the house. They later come back and rob the victims.

Police say they are targeting the elderly and warn that they may be violent. At least one homeowner was reported attacked with a crowbar.

Residents are urged to be aware of suspicious activity, and to use caution when answering the door or inviting a stranger into the house. Anyone with information should call 911 or D-District detectives at 851-5681.
