Allegany teen testifies he killed his father in self-defense, after father killed mother

An Allegany County teen accused of killing his parents said it was actually the father who killed the mother. That was the testimony Tuesday during a preliminary hearing, according to the Olean-Times Herald.

William Larson Jr., 17, has been charged with the murder of his father - William Larson Sr., 67 - and his mother - Lisa Larson, 49. Their bodies were found in the aftermath of a fire that consumed the family home in Clarksville earlier this month.

The Times-Herald said Allegany County Judge Terrence Parker ruled there is enough evidence to present the two second-degree murder and two first-degree manslaughter charges against the younger Larson to a grand jury.

The younger Larson testified his father was high on methamphetamines and had already killed his mother. His father then came after the son. Larson said he shot and stabbed his father in self-defense, then set the house on fire to cover up the deaths because he was scared he would be blamed.

The teen is being held on $50,000 cash bail. A grand jury will hear the case Dec. 11.
