Man suspected of running over his ex-wife arrested

Crime Stoppers of Buffalo

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office says it has arrested the man suspected to running over his ex-wife with his pick-up truck.

About 11 a.m. Thursday, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshal Service's Violent Felony Task Force acted on numerous tips that were submitted to Crime Stoppers regarding a possible location for Shane Hescox, 40.

Hescox has been wanted for assaulting his ex-wife  in Wheatfield since May 17. Courtney Hescox suffered broken ribs, arm and leg fractures, a partially collapsed lung and numerous cuts and bruises.

He was found at an Bowman Street address in Rochester and taken into custody without incident. Hescox was charged with reckless endangerment in the first degree, assault in the second degree, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and aggravated unlicensed operation.

He was arraigned in Cambria Town Court, where he was remanded to the Niagara County Correctional Facility with no bail, at the direction of Niagara County District Attorney Caroline Wojtaszek. Hescox is due to appear in Wheatfield Town Court June 4 and additional charges are pending out of Niagara Falls.
