Three suffer minor injuries in police chase

Three people, including an Amherst Police officer, were injured in a car chase with a stolen vehicle Wednesday night.

Amherst Police say it began about 8 p.m. Patrols responded to the area of Transit Road and Maple Road for a report of a stolen vehicle.

Police say the chase went westbound down Maple, when the vehicle reported stolen rammed a patrol car. It then continued westbound on Brighton Road into the Town of Tonawanda and down Delaware Avenue to Sheridan Drive, where police say the vehicle was involved in an accident with another vehicle.

Two people were transported to Kenmore Mercy Hospital with minor injuries. An Amherst Police officer suffered a hand injury.

Police arrested Stephen Gebura of Buffalo for the stolen vehicle.
