A suspicious item was found on the steps of a Post Office on South Park Avenue over the weekend. Buffalo Police responded and have indicated that the item had the appearance of a homemade bomb.

Officials have indicated that the device was not actually dangerous, but precautions were taken until the seriousness of the situation had been determined. Investigators are attempting to determine if this is related to the packages left outside of the South District Police Station on Friday.

The search for the suspect or suspects in that case and this current incident are continuing.
