The Rev. Robert Yetter has resigned as pastor of St. Mary's Church in Swormville after allegations of abuse have surfaced.
The Diocese of Buffalo says it received a complaint from a third party on Friday and commenced an immediate investigation. The diocese announced the latest complaint on its website Monday afternoon.
Diocesan Spokesperson George Richert did not respond to a call seeking comment, but issued a statement by email saying, “We received a complaint from a third party on Friday that may involve a minor and commenced an immediate investigation.”
St. Mary's, located on Transit Road, was established with a handful of families in 1849 by Buffalo's first bishop, John Timon, and has grown to a parish community of over 2,700 registered households.
