Sheriff: 3 arrested with 17 kilos of cocaine, $650K in cash

The Erie County Sheriff's Office has announced the arrests of three people in connection with the possession of 17 kilos of cocaine and $650,0000 in cash.

On Friday, two Alabama men were in a semi-tractor trailer when they were pulled over by deputies. Authorities say the vehicle was impounded for safety violations and the two men gave differing accounts of the trailer's contents.

Authorities say they found $650,000 in the suspect's possession.

The truck was reclaimed on Tuesday and authorities say surveillance noted an exchange of large bags with a Buffalo man identified as Lance Parker, 41. The tractor trailer was later stopped on Slade Avenue and the two Alabama men, Eric Young, 41, and Chancellor Smith, 22, were arrested on felony narcotics charges after $650,000 was found in their possession.

Authorities say Parker was then stopped on the Niagara Thruway, with 17 kilos of cocaine in his pickup truck. He, too, was arrested on felony narcotics charges.
