A former Brockport kindergarten teacher has been sentenced to 13 years in federal prison for possessing and trading child pornography.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says Roland Yockel II of Hilton, NY, was also ordered to pay $7,200 in restitution to victims and he will have to register as a sex offender upon release from prison.
Not only was Yockel was a Brockport kindergarten teacher, he also held positions with the Town of Hamlin Recreation Department as a summer youth camp counselor, program assistant, health director and camp coordinator.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle Rossi said a search of Yockel's home found some 6,000 images and videos of child porn, including some that depicted the sexual abuse against infants and toddlers. The former teacher was originally identified by Homeland Security in Phoenix, who were investigating a New Zealand child porn website.
