A man accused of shooting the owner of a Clarence restaurant two years ago and other crimes pleaded guilty to a variety of charges Tuesday.
Christopher Boyd, 37, of Buffalo pleaded guilty to robbing and then shooting Alexander Pozantidis, 44, owner of Zoe Restaurant on Transit Road, in September 2016. In July 2016, Boyd also burglarized a home on Riverside Avenue in Buffalo and assaulted the homeowner. Later that same day, he carjacked a woman on Gallatin Avenue in Buffalo at gunpoint.
He had been charged with three counts of robbery, one count of assault, one count of attempted murder, two counts of burglary, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of criminal possession of stolen property.
Pozantidis survived his wounds. He had closed up for the night when Boyd accosted him and stole several thousands dollars in restaurant proceeds from the night.
Boyd faces a maximum of 35 years in prison when he sentenced in July.
