Sledgehammer attacker facing additional prison time

A man sentenced to 107 years in prison in connection with an attack on his former girlfriend, her friend and her father could be facing additional prison time.

Mark Dublino, 54 of Cheektowaga, was sentenced in March for attacking his former girlfriend  and her friend with a sledgehammer, then attacking her father at his Amherst home with a shovel. Now he is facing an additional seven years in prison.

He was arraigned in State Supreme Court Wednesday on an indictment charging him with second degree assault and attempted second degree assault. The charges stem back to March 9.

While his sentencing guidelines for the earlier charges were being reviewed, Dublino attacked his defense attorney, Joseph Terranova, at the Erie County Holding Center. Dublino is scheduled to return to court on July 30.
