Wyoming County councilman arraigned on Mar. 7 murder

Wyoming County Sheriff's Department

Perry Town Councilman and retired Wyoming County Sheriff's Sgt. Joseph Mylniec has pleaded not guilty in the death of Robert Irvine III.

Mylniec was arraigned in Wyoming County Court Thursday, indicted on two charges: murder in the second degree and intimidating a victim or witness in the first degree.

The plea stems from the March 7 fatal shooting of Irvine, which authorities have said was first reported in a 911 call by Mylniec in his home. A autopsy found Irvine was shot four times with a 45-caliber handgun, however it will a while before toxicology results are available.

Motions are to be argued on June 21 and Mylniec is being held without bail.
