Hunter re-indicted for manslaughter of Sherman woman

A Chautauqua County hunter has been re-indicted in the death of a Sherman woman.

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and Chautauqua County officials say Thomas Jadlowski, 34, was arraigned Monday on two counts of manslaughter in the second degree and hunting after hours in the death of Rosemary Billquist, 43. Billquist was walking her dogs Thanksgiving Eve when she was fatally shot.

A second-degree manslaughter charge was dismissed in February on a technicality. Chautauqua County Judge David Foley ruled the jury had not been instructed properly.

Jadlowski, also of Sherman, entered a plea of not guilty in front of Foley again Monday. Bail was set at $50,000 cash or $100,000 property and he is scheduled to be back in court May 21.

The charges carry a potential state prison sentence of 5-15 years.
