A Cheektowaga man has been found guilty of robbing the KeyBank on Main Street in Amherst.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says Thomas Cascio, 52, is facing a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for robbing the KeyBank about 1 p.m. March 6.
Authorities credit the media and public for help quickly identifying Cascio from a surveillance photo that was widely distributed.
In 2000, Cascio had previously served four years in prison for four previous bank robberies. In 2009, he served another two years for a bank robbery. Sentencing is scheduled for June 21.
