A former Buffalo Parks seasonal worker has pleaded guilty to stabbing a dog.
James Craddock, 47 of Buffalo, pleaded guilty in State Supreme Court Monday to one count of the class E felony of aggravated cruelty fo animals.
The plea stems from an encounter Sept. 23, 2017 with a woman and her 9-year-old pit bull mix at Mineral Springs Road and Frank Avenue in South Buffalo. After a brief exchange, Craddock stabbed the dog with a large knife.
The dog was successfully treated for a deep stab wound and blood loss at an animal hospital.
Craddock was apprehended by Buffalo Police shortly after the incident and was immediately fired from his job.
He faces a maximum of two years in jail at his sentencing, scheduled for April 24. He remains in jail in lieu of $7,500 bail.
