Jamestown man indicted on child porn, trafficking

U.S. Attorney's Office

A federal grand jury has returned a 14-count indictment against a Jamestown man for child pornography and trafficking.

The U.S. Attorney's Office said James Chapman, 37, is facing a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison, a maximum of life, and a fine of $250,000.

He is charged with enticement of a minor; sex trafficking of a minor; production, distribution, possession and receipt of child pornography; and making a false statement. Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron Mango said the charges stem from November 2014, when Chapman is accused of coercing three minors to engage in sex.

Chapman was arraigned Thursday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Roemer and is being held pending a detention hearing on March 12.

Anyone with information about Chapman's contact with minors is urged to call the FBI Buffalo office at 856-7800 and to press zero to ask to speak with an agent. Authorities say Chapman also goes by the aliases of Fatz Guy and Perverted Doe.
