Buffalo student injured in pocket knife incident

Buffalo Police and Public School District officials were investigating a Monday morning incident involving a pocket knife that left a sixth-grade girl injured.

The incident, according to a Buffalo Public Schools spokesperson, happened on a bus involving two students at Hillery Park Elementary School 27.

The victim suffered what the spokesperson identified as a cut to her hand. She was taken to Oishei Children's Hospital for treatment and was expected to be released in short time.

Police, according to the spokesperson, were questioning the boy. He will be subject to a hearing and could face discipline including a long-term suspension or possible removal from School 27 for the remainder of the academic year.
