Facebook

A jury has found a Cheektowaga man guilty in the sledgehammer attack on his ex-girlfriend and her friend, then attacking her father.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office said Mark Dublino, 54, has been found guilty of two counts of attempted murder in the second degree, four counts of burglary in the first degree, one count of aggravated criminal contempt and two counts of assault in the second degree.

The charges stem from June 6, 2016, when Dublino entered the home of his former girlfriend in Williamsville, violating an order of protection. Once inside, Dublino attacked the her and her friend in the head with a sledgehammer. He then drove to his former girlfriend’s parents’ home in Amherst, where he attacked her elderly father with a shovel.

The DA said all of the victims are still in the process of recovering from their injuries. Dublino is scheduled to be sentenced March 12 by State Supreme Court Justice Deborah Haendiges.
