Dollar General shooting suspect indicted

A Cheektowaga man has been indicted in the November shooting at the Dollar General on Union Road in Cheektowaga that injured one person.

Erie County District Attorney John Flynn says Travis Green, 29, was arraigned by Erie County Court Judge Sheila DiTullio Wednesday on charges of attempted murder in the second degree, attempted assault in the first degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

Authorities allege Green became irate after asking for an employment application. They say he left the store, then returned with an AR-15-style rifle and fired several rounds. One customer was struck by the gunfire and was treated at a hospital.

Green pleaded not guilty and was remanded to jail without bail. If convicted of the charges, he could face a maximum of 25 years in state prison.
