A Buffalo man has been sentenced to up to 35 years in prison for the rape of a child under age 15.
The Erie County District Attorney's Office says a jury found Robert Healy, 37, guilty of three counts of rape in the second degree, two counts of criminal sexual act in the second degree and one count of endangering the welfare of a child for having sex with the minor for about a year from 2014-2015.
State Supreme Court Justice Deborah Haendiges also issued an order of protection, preventing any contact between Healy and the victim until the year 2065.
Healy also was sentenced to an additional 2-4 years in prison, to be served consecutively, on a conviction of felony aggravated family offense for sending letters from jail to the mother of the child in violation of an order of protection.
