Hit-and-run driver gets prison time in pedestrian fatality

A Buffalo man has been sentenced to one-and-two-thirds to five years in prison for leaving the scene of a hit-and-run accident that left a pedestrian dead.

Wade Sanders, 54,  received the sentence in Erie County Court Wednesday morning. It comes in the wake of a guilty plea in October to leaving the scene of an incident resulting in death.

In the evening of May 26, Sanders was driving an SUV on Bailey Avenue at Lang Avenue when it struck Arthur Redrick, 60, of Buffalo, who was trying to cross the street. Police found the SUV on Fox Street a few days later.

Sanders admitted he was driving and said he did not stop because he was scared.
